Setting up Stones

~ "Samuel then took a large stone and placed it between the towns of Mizpah and Jeshanah. He named it Ebenezer (which means "the stone of help"), for he said, "up to this point the Lord has helped us!" ~
~ 1 Samuel 7:12 ~

Several years ago, in an intimate encounter with my ever-faithful friend Jesus, as tears of joy fell to the ground, God brought me to this scripture twice within a matter of minutes. In this beautiful moment with Holy Spirit, so many years ago, I sensed I was being invited to set up stones like Samuel, and write about the encounters of God’s faithfulness in my own life.

As I set up each stone in this space, I expect that I will be profoundly impacted.

Signs of the Miraculous

A friend of mine once told me that prophetic words powerfully break off shame and dissolve clouds of hopelessness and depression. Miraculous encounters with God also have the same potent impact, not only delivering physical restoration, but often bringing emotional healing as well. Hopelessness and depression can fog the way all around us causing us to forget our true identity found in Jesus Christ, who claims us as His friend. Prophetic words and miraculous encounters  pull out the destiny and identity that the Father created and placed within each son and daughter from before the foundations of the earth were even created. Father God, through His Holy Spirit, loves reminding His son’s and daughter’s of who they really are in His heart, calling forth each child’s potential that often only the Father can see.

There are times that Father God will move miraculously over an entire community also reminding them of their destiny and identity, where the Holy Spirit is able to release revelation from the Father’s heart. In line with His written word, the Holy Spirit, as counsellor, comforter, encourager, and teacher will guide a community out of old seasons, into new seasons, and guide a community throughout each season. Father God, who is trustworthy and good, loves to guide prophetically and miraculously because He never leaves His daughters and sons. Jesus loves His bride the Church, and He too will never leave and will guide His precious bride through the night.

 ~ Psalm 139, Heb. 4:12, John 14:16-17; 26, Eph. 1:4-5, Eph. 2:10, 1 Cor. 14:1-25, Eph. 4:12

My desire is to create a space where the words and stories offered lift the fog that at times can descend, and by doing so, restore your hope, identity, and the destiny that Father God has placed within you.

Found by Perfect Love

Almost 11 years ago, in the midst of intense insecurity feeling absolutely alone, lonely, abandoned, worthless, and without hope- Jesus came. I didn’t even know the state I was in, I was so numb. Yet in the silence as I listened to a new CD, my feeble attempts to survive cracked, and this is where perfect unfailing love touched my desperate heart. I was not a Christian and was unaware I was even searching. Sure I had a Christian background- but those years were long forgotten. The CD I was listening to had songs from ACDC, NOFX and other bands. For some reason I had also downloaded one song different from all the others ~ this song was “Above All” by Michael W. Smith.

Laying in bed, life seemingly falling apart, this song began playing.

~ “you lived to die, rejected and alone. like a rose trampled on the ground, you took the fall and thought of me above all.”

The creator of the world thought of me and wanted me so much that he was willing to die to be with me. This weird force and presence from outside of myself crashed into my whole being. All of my senses were overwhelmed as I burst into tears, undone by a love that I had been waiting for all my life. I had never felt this warmth, safety, acceptance, and comfort. I, who felt abandoned, uncared for,  unseen, and of little worth ~ was now adopted, held, noticed, and counted as a precious possession absolutely wanted by God.

~ Jesus… Perfect Love… Love Unfailing… my best friend. Thank you Jesus for claiming me as your special possession so many years ago. ~
