Phil Whicam “safe” Often we find ourselves in seasons where our dreams, destiny, and call seem so far away and out of reach. Difficult circumstances have lasted so long, where it feels like a thick fog has descended, leaving us feeling lost. As our hope is deferred, we begin to wonder if our call, our dreams are even real. Our hearts grow sick and heavy as hopelessness begins to fill our senses. Did the words God speak ever happen? Was that even God's voice. Does God even care? As the questions swirl around crashing like waves on the shore of our battered hearts, our despair turns to frustration and anger, and then perhaps circles back around to despair. As our hearts grow sick, our dreams and destiny seemingly evaporating into hopelessness, we begin to question our worth, our identity, and the goodness of Father God. We only need to be quiet enough to hear these frightening questions. Yet, this beautifully frightening place is where we find our ever-faithful friend Jesus.
The Father continually invites us to surrender our dreams and destiny. The Father’s invitation is not an invitation to surrender our dreams into thin air, or some abyss where our deep longings and desires will never take shape. The Father invites his children to surrender their dreams and destiny into the safety and security of His heart. Our dreams are not simply passively held in the Father’s heart, they are cherished and protected deep within His heart; the very place that our dreams are birthed; the very place that we are birthed.
God will bring your dreams to fruition- you can trust this because he has ordained your days for you. The Father is excited over you, and is excited in what he has planned for you, because it was him who prepared your destiny and dreams in advance before He laid the foundations of the earth ~ Ephesians 2:10. Beloved you and your dreams are irreplaceable in the Father's heart. When all you can do is scream, and all seems to be lost and so far away- your dreams are safe in the Father's heart.
~ "My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one them came to be. ~ Psalm 139:15-16
~ "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope." ~ Jeremiah 29:11
